mac longtube question
its a simple one. i heard that mac longtubes dont have to be removed when doing clutch, tranny work, etc. is this true? cuz it might help me make up my mind on headers since ive heard mac is pretty quality stuff these days.

RE: mac longtube question
I believe that you have to remove one side either way. (Can't exactly remember which side it is, the pass. I think.)

RE: mac longtube question
ive always thought the same way but yesterday i saw in a post that oxfordgt said mac was the only brand where the tranny would slide out with them in place
|
RE: mac longtube question
oxford does know his stuff. I cant remember because I threw in a centerforce clutch as one of the first things on my car, So I didnt have to worry about it. Wait on somebody else, I'm sure somebody knows from EXP.

RE: mac longtube question
Yes I can drop my tranny with my mac longtubes still on. Its not the easiest thing but it can be done. Alot of twisting and wiggleing.

RE: mac longtube question
drop the tranny but can you get it back on? someone else said they could drop their tranny with LT's but couldnt get it back on with them
i see myselfneeding a new clutch in a few months is why i ask |
RE: mac longtube question
Yes I put my tranny back up with the longtubes still on. Its tricky but doable. Don't try to use a tranny jack it is worthless it has to be done by hand.

RE: mac longtube question
Since the manuals barely squeeze through, I take it automatics don't have a chance? This is why I was going to wait and geta converter in before LT's.
