RE: I FREAKING HATE FLORIDA, water in motor?
You guys have no idea what hydrolock is do you. If you hydrolock your engine it means got more then 4 table spoons of water into one cylinder which increased the preasure so much that it bent the rod. That is hydrolock. What the OP has is a wet MAF. I will bet no water got into his engine. When the MAF got wet it got a reading of a ****load more air was coming in then actually was so the computer dumped fuel in and flooded it. The sparkplugs are probably all fouled now from getting fuel soaked.

if his plugs are fouled and it washed his cylinders out then the oil in the cylinders will help it to bring back compression. i had a nissan in my shop that had flooded it self out and washed out the cylinder walls somehow not allowing the rings to be seated. i added oil to the cylinders and it ran completely fine after that, it brought the compression back in to spec.

Yeah, well I hate Michigan... We're getting 18 inches of snow tonight with expected 5 foot snow drifts... Just started my car up for the first time in a few weeks and it ran like Crap! Would barely run.

makes me feel better.
after thinking about it with a slightly less berserk mind i think the screeching/chirping noise was my belt got wet and was slipping. the MAF probably got water on it and the plugs may possibly be bad as yall said. letting it dry out tonight im gonna get some cleaner in the morning and clean the MAF off and throw the stock intake back on. i got 8 brand new spark plugs i got last weekend i was gonna throw in anyways but it was raining all day so i'm not worried about those bieng bad either.
i got some single prong platinum plugs those are fine right? gapping is .52 if i remember correct?

okay just got done with the car. pulled the intake out and it was soaked with water. i could see a few water spots on the bend that goes into te engine bay inside the tubebut i saw no water spots on the straiter piece. disconnected the battery, cleaned/dried the maf, put the stock intake back on, and she fired right up. i told her not to scare me like that again [8D]
