Good day all,

I posted this in the audio topic, but didn't get any bites... Really, all I need to know is how to determine if the HU is that of a Mach 460 system from the part number...

I have a 96 GT that has the Mach 460 system. I got the car with no Head Unit, so I got one off Ebay that stated it was for a Mach 460 system. OK, I get it and install it in the car. It turns on and I can change stations, adjust the volume, yada yada yada... HOWEVER, IHARDLY get any sound coming from ALL the speakers... With the volume at 100%, I can make out what is on the station, but that is about it... Is there a way I can confirm the HU is that of a Mach 460 system using the part number? Is the 6V output on the Dark Blue wire the only difference between the Premium sound HU's and the Mach 460HU's?

dont know about the color of the wire, but definityly a wire problem. i'd take it to a stereo shop. it will less of a headache!

Are you sure you have the Mach system? Behind your CD player, can you see the factory amp?

I would just replace the stock HU with an aftermarket HU, but I am just getting it working to sell it... There are three amps, one in the center console under the radio and two in the trunk... all the speaker covers have Mach 460 on them...
