Cam choice.
I was looking through past 5.0 issues and saw where they swapped the cams out of a 96 gt. It made 25more hp and 10 ft lbs. I would love to put new cams in my car. It will give it such a nice lope to my car. But the problem is I have 12,000 more miles on my warrenty, this voids it right? Has anyone done this install, and what cam did you use? I like the sound of the Comp Cams XE278AH with the operating range of 2200-6200rpm. It sounds like alot of work but worth it. How did everyone else do?

RE: Cam choice.
There are alot of things to consider. All said and done, I wish I would have either not done the cams at all, or gone with the stage 1s. My tune is off, and I didnt realise much more power except at the top of the RPM band.
With full boltons, you should figure on making about 290ish RWHP with camshafts. I am currently making about 282 with a crap tune, so 295 at the max shouldnt be out of the question.
They do make good gains, but unless you are going to install em yourself (and i don't recommend it, espcially if you go with valvesprings) they are very costly.
I spent dammed near 2K on cams, springs and install. Thats roughly half way to a blower.

ummmmm.....No, unfortunately, maybe the following week, though. Got Margo's new rear bumper in yesterday. Hope to have it painted and on for this weekend.
