01 red pony

When i'm driving at low speeds I can hear this knocking noise that seems to be coming from my driveshaft or my rearaxle area. Just wandering if any one might have a clue to what this may be?

Does the car jerk back a forward sometimes if you are not on the gas but it is in gear? I assume it is a manual transmission and it only happens if it is in gear - if all this is true then it is most likely the loose mustang drive train that you are feeling - there is some play all the way through the system. I asked the same question a few weeks ago and I was advised to check my U-Joints just in case they were about to go out - but other than that it is a 'feature' of the car
