Default WRX wants some

Alright, I have a friend who is getting a bug-eyed WRX. I don't know whether he is getting an auto or manual but i am guessing manual. He is calling me out for when he gets his car. What do you guys expect to happen if we did race? This race will be at the track if anywhere, if i get a ticket my car is gone... [>:]

All WRXs have a turbo. If you both are stock, he'll get you out of the hole but in the end it will be a close race, but I think if you are a good driver you can take him down at the top end. What year is it?

That means 2002-2003 models, unless it's an imported 2001 which is highly doubtful. I could be wrong but I think only the 2002-2003 models have the "bug-eye" headlights. Anyway my statement stands, if you are a good driver you have a chance of taking him out at the top end, but don't get discouraged because he'll get you out of the hole.

That is unless he's a crappy driver.

No he wont. The WRX's at my track runs some shi**y times. I dont think he will have a problem at all except the launch. But you would always take him quicker from a 40 mph roll in second gear... right in your powerband.

i love seeing RWD take AWD drives out of the hole. nothing like seeing a mustang do a 3 foot wheely 0wning an AWD car. when that happens, they may as well hit the breaks.
