Default What Octane??

Hey all, i drive an 02 GT with a MAC CAI and a BBK X-pipe, should i stick with 87 or run 91 or 93. I've heard that with any sort of mods, you should up the octane...but im not sure, so i figured there's no better place to ask than here. Thanks guys.

Well a higher octane will help your car support more compression if you have forced induction. With those parts its not crucial for you to have a higher octane, but it can't hurt.

It'll hurt. His wallet.

Stick with 87 octane, unless you can feel your car pinging while driving around.

There's like 5 billion threads on here already about this and I always say............

Without forced induction, advanced timing or higher compression pistons you DO NOT NEED PREMIUM.

Adjusting the timing to 14 degrees advanced is by far one of the best mods Ive done.

It's funny cause your car will tell you exactly what gas to use. Use 87. If the engine knocks, try 89. If it knocks again, move it up until you stop the knock.

Your exactly right.....just wish it was easier to adjust on these cars. The programmer does a little more than timing so yea it's worth it!!
