Default help with a damaged oil pan

Okay so i was driving down the road the other day and saw what i thought was a dead animal in the road so i tried to center it. well i did but when i ran over it, it happened to be a large piece of metal and it got jammed underneath my oil pan a poked a hole in it. i pulled over, got towed to the house and now it sits. the hole isnt really even a hole more of a split in the metal
i have a MMR 7 quart oil pan and a QA1 k-member.
So, do I....
1. take it to a shop and see if they will weld a patch on it with it still on the car
2. try to squeeze it out without removing the k-member or lifting the motor, and then try to patch it
3. try to squeeze it out without removing the k-member or lifting the motor, and then replace it with a new one
4. the hard way lift motor/drop K-member

i just thought about this but what about just using some JB weld to cover the split in the metal? would that work?

Oil gets hot and pressurized so i dont exactally think jb weld is a good long term idea, I would vote for Choice 4. I just dont trust patches on applications like this.

One other thing to consider is that the oil in the pan may ignite from the heat of the welder - I would go with option 3 if possible or 4 if necesaary for safety
Good luck.

you could definitely jb weld the crack. i used to have intercooler piping held together with jb weld on a volvo. it'll definitely be good.

The oil is not going to "ignite" because of the welder, but its still probably not that great of an idea. Pull the pan and have it fixed.

you have a tubular k member, how hard can it be to jack the motor up some(not not remove) and just yank the pan out?

you know the JB Weld idea keeps sounding better and better considering it requires no labor. i am not one to shy away from dirty work thats for sure but at this point in time i need to fix it FAST

pull the pan.... with a k member on your car that should take you maybe 20 minutes... i believe you can get it out without lifting the motor too but dont quote me on that...
