i have a 97 cobra i just bought, when im doing 80 mph im at 3grand. now with a cobra thats pretty high, im asuming i have 4.10s but im not sure so im curious as to any1 else that has gears knows which? because if they're 4.10 i want to change them to 3.73's

Sounds like 4.10s or 4.56s. The 4.10s will put you at 2875rpm and the 4.56s at 3200rpm.

I don't know why you'd want to change them to 3.73's. The 4 valve motors love rpm and the 4.10's will allow you to see more rpm.

To tell for sure you have to put the rear in the air. Mark a spot on the driveshaft and have a buddy spin the rear wheel one complete turn while you count how many times the driveshaft goes around. A little over 4 turns =4.10s, I think you have 4.30s which is a perfect gear for a 97 cobra.

5th. Oxford is right, 4.30s would put you at 3015rpm. Dunno why I was thinking about 4.56s and not 4.30s...:eek:

They could be 4.10s. My car at 80mph turns at about 3k....at least when I bought them they were supposed to be 4.10s.:eek:

yea but i have a cobra, you have a gt, you redline at 5800, i redline at 6800. i think its prob 4.30s, in about a month after i get my money situated im putting 3.73s in, im going to be selling the others, so if you want to buy them oxfordgt send me a msg with your email so i can keep in touch.
