Gears or lowering springs?

Gears or lowering springs?
I have a little extra money from christmas that i'm going to put in the car. Right now it is bone stock aside from some weld-in flows. Originally i was going to get some lowering springs and call it a day, but i can't make up my mind how low to go. After adding up the cost of springs and CC plates i figure i'm in about the same price range as some nice 4.10's. What do you all think i should do first? springs or gears. And too, do a lot of the speed shops have a tuner to calibrate my speedo or would i have to buy a handheld to do that? Its an 02 auto GT.

in an auto, gears and a tuner will net you a nice improvement over stock.
As for springs, H&R SS's provide one of the nicest drops out there for our body style. I would have went with those if I didnt go with a coilover setup.

Interesting, i thought more people would be leaning towards gears. Keep the comments coming please. Also anyone with H&R sport springs out there with any regrets. If i were to go lower i think that is the spring i want, not too low, but still noticable. Any lower i think looks bad with the stock wheels.

i think the two biggest improvements to my car were first the supercharger, and second suspension. I still have stock rear gears (even tho my tuner said with my cams i shoulda gone up to at least a 3:55....still drives just fine...)
Personally though, I'd never do springs without shocks/struts...and depending on the amount you plan on dropping, caster camber plates as well.... no point in dropping your car if the alignment gets all outta whack and you end up spending more money on new tires
plus a lot of aftermarket springs will reak havoc on stock shocks/struts....so you'd probably end up having to replace them eventually....might as well do the whole sha-bang at once
