The closer you get to matching the sidewall ratio the less likely you need to recalibrate the speedo. It may still need a little but with a 315-30 you are very close to the factory size that it shouldn't cause a noticable difference.

Ok guys is this right?

Stock tires: 245/45/17 =245*.45=110.25/2=55.125mm sidewall

New tires: 275/40/17 =275*.40=110.0/2=55.0mm sidewall

Would this setup work without a recal? Only .125 of a mm difference...?

Mach MY B, I thought a stock tire was 245-40 not 45. A 315-35 is the tire you need.

.125mm = .005 of inch. A 275 - 40 is the tire size you need. Your off by only 5 thousands which is nothing

Stock tire size is 245/45/17....I used 15' in the previous post. I edited it now.

So I think the 275/40 series will be OK? I want the same tire all the way around. I have it lowered so 315's wont work. I am just worried about the side wall thickness.

Yes sir.

Stock is 245/45/17.
You can run a 275/40/17 and not have any speedo issues.

I went from a 225/55/16 to a 275/35/18 and have no issues.
