will this spot work for hood pin install?

ok i dont want to take out my rubber stops, i like my hood aligned right....sooo can i put my pins through this metal tab? sorry i dont know the technical name for it, but i pulled up on it hard and it seems sturdy since its bolted down in other places also, i still have my hood latch aswell, just going to put pins in for extra safety.... theres enough room under the tab to adjust the pins fully and easily, even though the angles of these shots dont show it....i would be able to center them right in the middle... sorry its so dirty under there, it was raining today so its got water marks all over plus the car has been more or less down for a few months so its not the prettiest thing ever at the moment

It won't look right and it will look goofy as hell, it really needs to be where the the hood rubber stop is.

Ya, I don't think that it will look right. I don't even think it would fit up through that part of the hood.

The best and correct spot is the where the bump stop is, thats where it should be.

Put rubber gromets on the pins or extra nuts on the pins to lift the hood if needed, you may have to mess around with it, but the hood pins I have always have had have been fine without.

Unfortunatly it looks like you do on these cars.

"some" cars you can get into spots where you don't have to, but these cars there is not and the nut needs to be welded to the core support where the the bump stop was.

It is not that big a welding job though.

this isnt going to work....i dont want to half ass some rubber stops or extra nuts?? .... why would it not work to place the pins beside the stops....if i pull my stops off, my hood is not going to sit right and its not going to look good.....

Just drill out the stops and run them through the pins so that your hood sits on top of them so that it sits right!

Look at underneath your hood and where the bump stop goes, the places lines perfact with each other when closed on a stock hood, I will "assume" they will be the same on a NON stock hood as yours.

That is why the hood pins need to go there, it is generally in a spot that has the room for it, plus for looks reasons that is the most logical place to put them.

If I move mine to one side or the other, it won't work right or look good. It would be a half assed job done that way.

Besides your latch will help keep it up to where it is supposed to go also.

Do it right or not all, put it where it shouldn't and it will look like hell and be out of place, it's your car.
