Off Road H-Pipe Question???
If I were to get a H-pipe for my 04 gt with no cats, will it pass inspection? I currently have a mac cat back exhaust on it now but want it deeper. I also have been hearing about pro chambers. What are those and do they pass inspection? Anything else I need to no about mid pipes? [sm=thanx.gif]

yea I figured it would. I'm just suprised it hasnt yet. I'll be getting a custom chip soon enough anyways soo I'll be alright.
ANOTHER side note, My o/r H sounds exactly (from what i remember) like my o/r X? thats wierd? I was kinda hoping for a diff sound, just for a change. Maybe, just maybe I can ditch the flows......

RE: Off Road H-Pipe Question???
An H that has cats on it will pass... the main thing is pipes without cats are not street legal no matter what emissions rating you have if they use their mirror and see no cats they probably wont even test it...
If your looking to get the no cat sound try looking into some "High-Flow" cats their not quite as loud or deep but keep your ride street legal for inspections...
Also if you really want that o/r H i know several people that keep their stocker pipe around to bolt in for inspections then swap it right back...

Also, if the inspector goes by the book 100%, you have to have the same amount of cats on your mid-pipe as your original.
99+ GT's have 4 cats, so technically, if they go by the book, you still won't pass emissions.

RE: Off Road H-Pipe Question???
Passing inspection discussions really vary by what state you live in so before you get an accurate answer you need to relate where you live. Some states to this day do not have inspection at all, how lucky! In Pennsylvania if you drive less than 5k per year you are exempt from emissions. If you live in a state that does a sniffer your SOL! If they only connect to your OBD, cars computer and you have MIL eliminators in place your gonna pass unless they do a visual and see your awesome OR h pipe headers and cat back. need to find a friend or keep a stock h-pipe handy for swap at inspection time.
