Default Comp Cams or VT Cams??? Ordering This Week

You guys (some of you) have been real helpful with my cam questions these last few weeks. I've been reading, listening, etc. and am going to order this week. So.....

Comp Cams: XE270AH 234 I/238 E, .550 I/.550 E, 113* LSA ???
or
VT Competition Engine Dev.: VTSTG2SC Stage II Blower Cams 224/236, .540/.505, 112* LSA ???

I'm a little concerned that the VT's onlyhave a 112* LSA for a blower cam. I have a P1SC running at 11psi (3.1" pulley). I'm right at 12.0 flat and 115mph before cams. I want it to be reasonably mannered on the street so don't want Stage III's. Maybe custom grind about "Stage II 1/2"?? Thanks.

Neither! Call Tim at Modular Powerhouse (770) 591-0000 and have him make you a custom set. IMO his cams are bar-none the best, the will produce more HP than ANY off the shelf cams and his blower cams destroy the competition. Oh yeah the cost the same as off the shelf cams. I originally ordered VT's, then returned them for Tim's and I'm glad I did.

Thanks. I'll give him a call tomorrow. What makes them better do you think? Is it his grind? His billet material? Your thoughts? Thanks again.

I checked their website. They sell Comp Cams custom ground, and VT cams custom ground. So, they are just grinding the blank billet from either VT or Comp Cams. That's fine. Maybe what you are telling me is that Tim at MPH just knows how to grind a great cam!?

you are correct. You can tell him what you want, give him the specs of your car, etc and he'll make a killer cam for you.

I believe I may have read that too. Maybe on turbomustangs? Something about they were taking money for engine orders but not shipping any engines...

Anyways, Tim will be able to get you some great cams either way.

Tim's custom grinds are said to be very good.

VT (the sales part..........not the manufacturing part) has gone under.

You can still get the VT grinds from Jim though.

My cams from Tim are comps. I don't think he grinds for VT, I believe all of VT cams are "off the shelf" but I may be wrong.
