Doing long tubes now would save you install that is a PITA when the motor is in the car

A nice set of blower cams and valve springs. It will be way easier with the engine out of the car, plus you'll already have the heads off for the port job.

A cam install isn't that bad when the motor is in the car. Takes about 4 hours to change both cams and install new springs. The headers are what your gonna wanna do for sure! I would put in a 180 thermostat and Paint or powder coat everything you want done now!

If you're only looking to run 8 psi I wouldn't worry about blower cams unless you have the money to burn. Cams are expensive and you won't get a lot of bang for your buck at 8 psi. And it's not a big difference whether the motor is in the car or not. The only thing I would go ahead and do now is headers. That will save you a lot of time in the future.
