i go to install my jlt rai with very vague instructions and i have a huge problem, it says not to reuse the maf screen which makes perfect sense, but when i bold the billet adapter to my maf, they arent flush i.e the billet adapter and the maf have a small gap inbetween them. the bolts are also way too long and stick too far out causing them to be in the way of the filter piece. what should i do to fix this, i need a tight seal between the maf and the adapter and that isnt happening now

This is just an idea, but maybe if you could find a large O-ring at a hardware store you could put that in there to seal it up. Just make sure it is slightly larger than the opening for the air to flow through without obstructions.

Is there any way you could post up pics of what youre talkin about? I put the RAI on my 02 GT and didnt have any probs what so ever.

i finished installing it so i cant take pics, but basically, between the maf and the adapter there was space that looks like a gasket should have been there, i ended up just leaving the screen in so i would have a seal. seems to work fine

the screws that came w. mine didn't allowthe screen 2 be reused.

my screws are about 1 inch long

When I installed mine, the screws were so long the hose clamp was getting pushed away since the screws were not making it over the hose clamp.
