hey, i already asked this before but i just want a second opinion before i go losing $2,000. I have a stick 2003 mach 1 with flowmaster mufflers, can i beat a stock auto 1999 camaro z28? Cause i heard the z28's pump out 300 horses to the wheels.

That would be a good one. I wouldn't bet 2000 dollars on it. maybe a hundred or something. Better yet, just do it for fun.

I looked it up. They say it has 285 HP. I would go for it!

285 flywheel hp, and its an automatic, that guy is prob makin about 240 to the wheels, mach 1's stock dyno around 26x-270 i believe? you should win as long as you have half a brain and can drive that thing. the only thing I dont get, why would he be willing to bet 2k if he has a stock z28? are you sure its stock??

Hmmm. Well I know this is a mustang forum...and I too have a stang. But, my brother had a 95 Z28 that was bone stocke cept for roller rockers and an intake and he was makin 398 (and that thing guarenteed had more tq than my stang does..and mines a v8 with exhaust). The rockers only added 37 and the intake added 13. That leaves 338 at the wheels for a stock. It was a 6 spd...but still, for 2 grand, I would NOT do it. And yeah, make sure it's stock...and give it a couple of runs just for fun.

Saying it's an automatic doesnt mean much either..cuz in 98 they put the performance shift option in the camaro's...just like in the GTP's and that maximizes RPM's to about 5000-6000. Not to mention they'll get a better take off unless your a good driver.

dont do it.....not for 2 grand.

I have a friend with a 98 Z28, stock. Auto, running 13.6's all day long. Im gonna say youre gonna loose. Unless you can drive like a pro.. Sorry man. I would love to say youre Mach would win. But i dont think it will. And im not sure why people bet money on races either... I would never bet money.

i know that supposedly the z28's are supposed to have 285 to the flywheel, but i heard they were vastly underrated just like the 03 cobras.
