Default need rear end build help!

So I plan to build my rear end either this winter on my days at home. Or this spring before racing time. A couple of questions I have are mostly about pricing, because I realy don't want to break the bank on this.

1. How much can the 03-04 cobra diff handle?
Found this auction while searching around, and noticed the price was pretty nice for a brand new 31 spline diff. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Musta...QQcmdZViewItem

2. I am going to go ahead and asume no one has anything bad to say about the 31 spline Moser axles? I am pretty set on getting a pair of them.

3. Just like I had seen on another recent post, I would love to see a good write up about welding the axle tubes.

4. If anyone has any good ideas on getting some of the parts needed at good prices, or maybe some less expensive parts than what I see on AmericanMuscle and the other big name websites, I would love to see what I could do for deals.

5. Also, I know about the bearings/seals, the gears, the axles, the differential, and the rear end support. Any other misc parts I need to be replacing to handle some decent power and good, strong launches?

Thanks for any input and help.

Default RE: need rear end build help!

im going to be running the 03-04 cobra diff. there is a guy on one of the fourms i jsut bought his last diff. brand new for 200 shipped. i went with americanmuscle to get the gears, bearing kit, rear end girdle, and axles. i found them the cheapest. and thats about it.

Default RE: need rear end build help!

thanks for the info. another guy i talked to tonight who is big with mustangs said the cobra diff should be plenty. i was also checking american muscle for the other parts... sounds like it might be the cheapest. this year i might put off the performance mods i had planned. new vert top, rear end build, and rear tires are going to easily push me to like 1500 bucks, and i want to save some cash for a road trip this summer
