you can cut them.. we once layed a 85 chev truck FLAT on the ground by cutting springs in front and blocking the leaf springs in the rear.. it drove pretty good for how much we chopped.

Page 44 of the May 2005 issue of Popular Hot Rodding....What's that they are doing???? Cutting 1 and 1/2 coils off a spring to go into a GMachine!!!!

And what is this, they only ran 1.8mph slower than the fastest car they have ever tested through the slalom............And the spring didn't fall out..............WOW imagine that

ORIGINAL: GT1999

i was thinking about taking my spring insolators out as well .... can that cause anything bad or dangerous to happen.... i just want my car to sit a little lower than it already does... could not having the insolators mess up handling or anything like that?

i just finished cutting them. I cut 1 coil on all 4 springs. The 2 front springs i removed both isolators. The rear i only cut one coil as well and i only removed the top 2 isolators. I took before and after pics so once i find my cable for my camera i will post them up.

Before:
Front drivers 28 1/4"
Front Passengers 28 1/2"
Rear drivers 28 5/8"
Rear passengers 28 3/4"

After
FD 27"
FP 27"
RD 27.5"
RP 27.5"

These measurements are from the ground to the highest point inside the wheel well.

Now to go for a test drive.
