Default New Wheels Rubbing

I just got my new bullitt rims form AM, and now i have a little problem. I have 275's up front and they make contact on the front of the front right (passanger) wheel well liner when I have the wheels to full left lock. It does not rub on the left (driver) side even at right lock. Is there any way for me to adjust how the wheel sits in the wheel well? re-seating the K-member maybe?

you shouldnt really be running 275's up front..you should be at a 245-265 up front. Especially if its lowered

you dont have spacers on the fronts do you? you should take them off..I ran a 275/35/18 up front for a year without my car being lowered with no problems at all. I had a new set so I used them until they were gone..But if they are rubbing bad and tires are in good shape you could sell or trade for a set of 245s..wheelmax has 245s for $95 ea

Try taping a couple strips of cardboard to the edge of the tire then warm the wheel liner with a heat gun then turn the wheel to reshape a little. I have not done this & do not know if it would work but thats my Mcgiver for the day.

I do not want you take this as sarcasm or me being mean or rude at all, because I am legitamately only curious.

But, why did you even bother running that wide of a tire up front? You actualy lose some of your cars handling capabilities by doing that. You will pull and grab at every bump and dip and pebble on the road. I just wonder why people think tires that wide are neccessary.

Because they are running a wider than stock front rim, and if you run a 245 ona 9 inch rim (like the ones that come on the 17x9 bullit rims from AM etc) the tire looks streched and does not provide rim protection. This is espcially a problem with a front/non drag radial style tire with a stiffer sidewall.

I run a 275 up front and I do not experence anything you are describing. There are plenty of stock cars that run a 275+ size tire in the front and do not experence this either. So far as handling, I have not experenced any negitive results, and generalliy speaking on a dry surface wider is better.

Mine rub just a LITTLE but I just say screw it and don't go full lock. How often do you need to go full lock anyway?

The main reason i bought 275's up front is because i went with a 9" rim, which may or may not have been a good idea, but from driving around for a day they feel pretty good.

And Btw I was able to fix it with a heat Gun no now there is about 1/4" of clearance.

so you are saying im completely false in saying having a wider wheel on the front wheels is not going to grab bumps and other things on the road more? well thats kinda wrong. if you dont have any issues with the way they handle or ride or grip things, thats fine, but its not saying that a 245 is going to grip and pull the same as a 275.

and that was a crap ton of commas...i should work on that lol.
