yea, they were the comp stage 2 cams and then he tried to turn it over by hand after i retimed it a few times and bent a valve so i had to tear it apart and replace it. after that we tried again and they wouldnt fit so i had to put the stock cams in after i put in some good valve springs and all that stuff and didnt get paid.

but i put a set of vt stage 3 cams in my stock shortblock.

I figured that, I'm definitely going with a custom grind!

The stage ones are close to the Comps you are talking about. The 270/274 is the advertised duration, not the .050" duration you listed for the stage 1 cams. The advertised duration of the Stage 1's is 269/271 so you aren't steeping up much going to those Comps. My Stg 2's have an advertised duration of 270/280. Hope that helps.

Im also working on a few more 2v grinds, as well as 3V and 4v as well. I don't necessarily believe everyone needs a "custom" grind but i'd like to have a few more off-the-shelf grinds available to choose from.

so would full bolt ons with some vt stage 1 cams and a lightweight flywheel and driveshaft, with a good dyno tune put someone in the ball park of 300whp?
