i have a 96 ford mustang gt, im trying to replace the headlight switch ****, but when i ordered a new **** it comes with a rod and the rod with the old knobis stuck on the headlight switch,

how can i remove the rod without replacing the whole switch?

^^^sounds ghetto but thats what I would do!! Actually mine broke as well and I have no **** I just have to tug on that rod to turn mine on for the time being.
