Default Need help... H or X pipe?

A little background...I have a '04 GT that is stock except I had the factory mufflers replaced with Flowmaster 40's. It sounds pretty good, but I want it louder. The car is under warranty so I can't remove the cats. I know the car has a factory H behind the cats, will adding an aftermarket H or X and leaving the rest of exhaust as is make the car obviously louder? I don't really want to install a whole new cat back system at this time. Thanks in advance.

Puttin a h or x pipe on a car will make obviously louder. Although Ford will probably void your warranty unless you know someone that can let you slide by. I wouldn't recommend puttina mid pipe on the car if you want too keep the warranty because you can't leave the stock cats on with thenew pipe. It will make the car sound mean though, an h pipe will give the car a deeper tone with the flowmasters, but if youwant a raspier tone you can go with an x pipe.

just put the stock one back on if you ever have to go in for warranty work...its not rocket science.

anyone have sound clips of a Pypes catted x pipe and catback? Just got mine in the mail, can't wait til spring to hear it. Also, jba or bbk headers? I'm leaning toward ceramic jba.

I like the H with flow's, but everyone has their own opinion. Check out the clips, and see what you like the best.

Will removing the stock H and cats cause the computer to throw a code or affect the way the car runs or fuel economy?

yes removing the cats will throw a code from the rear 02's whos job it is to make sure the cats are doing there job. and i ran with that code on for a month, didnt notice any difference accept that freakin anoying engine light. and removing the cats will increase your mpg a tad.

With Flow's go with the h-pipe. I bought a summit o/r h-pipe with my flowmaster cat back exhuast and it sounds mean!! I also kept my stock mid pipe w/cats just in case I needed it for state inspection.
