Is there an echo?
that was helpful.

The idea of an intake spacer is to accelerate the air into the intake under the throttle body. Faster airflow = more air/fuel in the combustion chamber.

I don't know if they work or not. I doubt it helps much at all but it's a cheap and easy mod. I've heard people say it did nothing for them at all.

rumor is their good for 1 or 2 hp if you've still got the stock plenum, otherwise the aftermarket plenums already have alittle more height built in. these spacers are alittle more important that the ones on the 5.0's and on carb's that often times do nothing - because the plenum design on a 4.6 puts a pretty hard 90* angle on the air right at the bottom going into the intake. The idea behind the spacer isnt necessarily to increase velocity like most spacers, its also to reduce turbulance and create a straighter path into the intake.

No, I don't currently use one but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night... actually I thought about it but decided not to go for anymore hp for now.

I have one on my car, that and a cai were the first (2) mods that i did with my car, I noticed a big difference in performance. I have now added a 75mm tb and c&l plenumn and kept it in place when i added them. IMO it is a very cheep mod and I am very happy with it.

I just ordered an intake spacer from MustangTuning.com a couple of days ago. It was only 40 bucks, so i figured what the hell. Anything that helps with airflow is going to help with power. More air=more power. I'll let you know what I think of it when I put it in.
