it won't make you go faster, but on the other side of that when i got my sportlines installed, my stopping distance got noticeably better.

It will make it slower. Stiff springs suck for racing in a straight line. Plus lowering the car itself is bad for drag racing because it throws the geometery of the suspension out of wack. Lowering the car is only good for looks.
Not true if you are road racing! Lowering the car will give you a better roll center along with better center of gravity.

Yes, I know he said he wanted to improve his strip times but to say that lowering the car is only good for looks is a bit of a sweeping statement.

Just lowering the car with springs is bad for any kind of racing. Find me a pro racer that would actually use lowering springs on their road race car. They throw everything out of wack and if you push the car to hard things will start breaking. Properly lowering the car with coilovers, cc plates, bump steer, ball joints, adjustable upper control arms, panhard bar and you will have a good safe handleing mustang. So again lowering is just for looks.

lowering the cars throws off the the instant center for the rear, and intern will kill your 60 ft. times making your car slower at the strip. my car on stock tires reguraly pulls 2.1s with 4 cyl. springs on street tires whereas my buddy has sportlines and has only been able to pull a 2.5. we'll see how much my 2.1 changes when i throw the 325/50/15 nitto drag radials on i got chillin in the shop.
