Default O 2 sensor

About a month ago I had to change a O2 sensor (bank 2 sensor 1). TheCELwent off and came back on. Sometimes its on sometimes its not. So one day when it came on again, I took it to autozone and theytold me it was the same sensor. But its say there is no faults detected. He told me it should reset eventually. What do you think?

which sensor did you replace? ex. drivers or passenger, front or back? most people get it confusedbut bank 2 sensor 1 is the drivers side front sensor. hmmm... know i'm second guessing myself, i'm pretty sure thats right.

More often than notO2 sensor related codes are an indication of some other problem, not an indication that the sensor is bad. What code(s) are you getting?[/align]

That is correct. Bank 2 Sensor 1 is Drivers side pre-cat sensor.

That is only correct if the #1 cylinder is on the passenger side. (Bank 1 is the same side as the #1 cylinder).

Cliffyk: If it's just one sensor, I can see that being bad. When I swapped my exhaust system, somehow my new sensor harness (Bank2 sensor2)was not tucked up and was melted by the cat. I got a very specific code that told me (Heater failure Bank 2 Sensor 2) Fixed the wiring harness, cleared the code, fixed, no more related issues.

If it were something like 'Lean Sensor blah blah blah'..then yes that is a sign of another issue ...

But...perhaps the wire harness is jacked on that sensor which is why it's tripping off and on.

totally disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes before reconnecting it. if its something else...the code should come up again. then pull codes.
