2000 Mustang GT advice?
Hey there,
I got a couple questions for you pros out there. I just got a new (to me) 2000 Mustang GT with the 4.6L engine and love it. I've always wanted a mustang since highschool and was finally able to get one. Here's my questions...
I'm not much of a mechanic and I'm wondering where I can find out some things on my car and where should I begin when I start thinking about modifying it etc. I've talked to a few people and they mentioned getting Mustang Monthly and start with replacing the stock air filters with a K&N air filter system. Any other advice?
Thanks.

K&N, subframes, gears, exhaust. IMO, the very first mods should be these ones, and a lot of people will agree. You will see the most gain out of gears, go to 3.73's and you'll def. feel a difference. BUt you start with 3.27's from the factory, so the gain won't be quite as big if you had a foxbody, which starts with 2.73's, and some 3.08's (mine does). Subframes will help prevent chassis flex on launches, and exhaust will give you the sound, plus a few extra hp (10-15)

Throttle body, COLD AIR INTAKE (save some cash and make your own, route it down towards the bumper), nitrous, short throw if you got a stick, clutch.
Oh yeah. Shave weight where you can (that DOES include the driver), and drive her hard. Learn to drive her hard and she'll reward you. That's how I got my Saturn (which should run 16.5 stock) to run 16.3 on a full tank. And 16.1 on some borrowed tires and an intake.

since your not much of a mechanic, if you go to stangparts.com they have some good how-to articles as does mustangworld.com, another thing that works good is the manuals that you can buy at any auto store
