Default different a/c delete question

why cant i just run a short belt and ditch the hardware? is there some reason im missing? i notice that everyone drops like $60 for a delete kit and i hear they are cheaply made.

I think I've figured out how to run the motor on 4 pulleys. If it works I'll post pics in the next few weeks!

i have done it, you just mod the tensioner a bit, grind some bolts here and there, add a spacer, buy a ribbed idler pulley and buy a 70.5 belt.

Can you post a link to your PB account? I was thinking of taking all the pulleys off the block front cover and using one of the ribbed ones on the stock tensioner but I would love to hear your input on how you did it!
