um, i'm always with the "be faster than you look instead of looking faster than you are" but honestly, most non mustang owners don't know all of the differences between a V6 and V8... as a matter of fact, I've seen people mistake a mach 1 for a cobra (despite the fact that it says mach 1 on the side) or think that V6s were GTs just because they were clean or had an aftermarket muffler.

I've thought of doing this myself. I get tired of everybody in town wanting to get some of me when they see the fin on the back. Definitely agree with Beast, though. You better really have the "go" when the time comes or you'll look like a chump when you get eaten up.

No truer statement made - Amen, Fallstar01! The same principle holds true for other hobbies. For example, how many of us know the (detailed) difference between motorcycles, speedboats, Jet Ski’s, RV’s, or chainsaws for that matter? I’m betting not many. I’m into motorcycles, but KNOW that most people don’t know the difference between a Kawasaki Ninja 250 and my bike, a Suzuki GSXR 1000. (And that’s a ‘night and day’ difference as it relates to performance – basically, it’s like mistaking a Mazda Miata for a Ferrari Enzo!)

Personally, I see your intent and love the idea, but keep her a GT. Instead of downgrading the GT from the outside, upgrade her from the inside (i.e., supercharger). That way, you can remain a sleeper and fool 80% of the public while smoking the unsuspecting Vette from time to time (that’s my plan at least)…

You guys are getting confused, i just want to swap bumpers, that's it. Everything else stays the same except for maybe debadging. I have an 01. I just figure if I leave the badges on, people will think I am just some poser six banger guy that put GT badging on. Also, there are no tailpipes so cutouts would look dumb to have, I think. My exhaust ends before the rear axle.

I think its stupid. No one goes after a 6 cylinder and I personally like being the one sought after and being tried to race. Now you have to go looking for the races. I think you should just keep the look of the GT. I mean if you wanted a car with ***** and looks like its slow get a Z28, to me they look like Chrysler Sebrings and I get them confused all the time with the exception of the SS with the ram air hood.

How many Honda guys rev at you weekly when you are just driving down the road? If they hear any noise that resembles an exhaust that isn't stock, they'll rev and try to race. Then again maybe it's cuz I live in riceland here in AZ.

no Hondas around here ever rev at me. i rarely get in street races. i have my friend who sets up races if ppl talk **** about my car but thats all. i still would hate the one to be having to do the chasing. theres a 6 cylinder around here with dual exhaust and i still wouldn't race him if he tried cuz it would be a waiste of time. most ppl think i have more done to my car cuz of the Loudmouths and get scared off.
