RE: 01 salvage gt?
Tough call...everyone else will tell you "don't do it." But being the cheap mother f'r that i am...I'd say MAYBE. What was the damage? Where was the damage? What body shop did the repair? What are the stats on the GT...mileage, etc.

RE: 01 salvage gt?
just be sure the car is looked over good by someone thats qualified to do it. the car had to be inspected to get the salvage title but that just means its road worthy - not that its in good shape. who knows, frame could be bent or other serious problems... it had to of been hit HARD to have been totaled since its still fairly new.
also, check around if your getting a loan for it - many places won't loan money on salvage titles because alot of states don't allow liens on those titles.

RE: 01 salvage gt?
it has 36k miles on it i dont know the full extent of the damage yet but i know the trunk and hood have been replaced and the whole car has been painted. I also found paint on some of the plastic pieces in the engine bay so i know it had some front end damage. The car looks like it was put together very well and couldnt find anything wrong with it as far as pieces not fitting right or other things of this sort, so i dont know...

RE: 01 salvage gt?
I got my car at a local car auction for 8400 with 85k miles on it which are wholesale prices, so with that car being an 01 with only 36k on it that's a pretty good price. However I would be a little nervous about the extent of the damage to the car.
