Default What are doughnuts, sliding around being stupid etc. hard on?

It was dark, and we found a nice empty ware house parking lot, so we grabbed the camera and spun some sideways action tonight. Besides the initial shock load on the transmission, what else are doughnuts hard on? are things really fragile, and waiting to break?

Just don't redline your engine, and don't lock the wheel all of the way in one direction. Don't do it in first gear (if it's a manual).

also, dont dump it in second, start off in first and shift to second or if you got the power to break 'em loose easily, start off real slow in second, crank the wheel, and give it hell....i was ****in around in my car and did a 4grand dump in second launching in the rain....dumping the clutch in second is bad news...my whole car got smoked out by my clutch.... i was standing in the rain with my doors and windows open letting my car air out....my car stunk for days everytime i barely even slipped the clutch...and a burnt clutch is definately not an enjoyable smell

Was your clutch on it's last legs? I wouldn't have thought that would happen on wet pavement. Just curious...and to the OP, I don't think donuts are good for anything if you do them too much. Motor, suspension, rear end, tires, driveline all pay a price and for what? Just watch other people do them and repect your own car

That's not supposed to happen. You have a different problem. Also, don't ever dump the clutch at 4,000 RPM's in any gear, unless your trans/drivetrain is built for it, and even then there's no good reason for that. [&:]

it also puts unusual stress on the suspension (it wasnt ment for that amount of force going sideways).
