Default 01 cobra cold start problem

I have an 01 cobra that has trouble starting when the temp. drops below 30 degrees. It does help to hold the gas pedal down.I beleive she is flooding herself out and holding the pedal down is adding more air to help with the fuel to air ratio. Can anyone help me with what the problem is.Thanks.

A lot of people have a cold start problem and really its nothing to worry about and nothing really you can do, but a good gel battery or below may help.

So no problems when its warmor above 30correct? Assuming so, its hard to tell without hearing it crank over. I mean if your battery is super cold it cant put the same power out as it would if it was warmer. Is it hard to start because it keeps cranking and cranking, or because it wont crank. I would check the spark plugs, battery, starter, see if anything is loose. If nothing then move to the next things. Do you have an aftermarket MAF, what mods do you have that may hinder your car from a quick start up when its cold.

If the exhaust billows white smoke for a few seconds when first starting the engine after it has been sitting for a while, such as overnight, and then runs normally, it could mean that the rubber valve stem seals have perished.

Another clue is: does the exhaust smoke smell like fresh, rather than burnt oil.

When was your last tune up? I would check your battery, Also if your cables are corroded your car will start funny because of the amps it needs to crank the starter can't flow through the cable good.

I am going to go out on a limb and ask you to clean your MAF with some MAF cleaner or Brake parts cleaner. I have a feelings it may be reading incorrectly and throwing your air/fuel ratio off enough to cause the cold start problem.
