Default Exhaust leak.

So yesterdayI had started to install a mac o/r h with a couple of people. I had to leave due to work. Well they had finished it for me and I drove around for awhile, after a little bit my CEL came on. Iwas thinking, oh well because since it has no cats it setting it off, but then I did remember I have mil eliminators since I originally had an o/r x pipe which never threw the CEL.

So on my way home when I came to a light, the car started to right a little rough at idle. Only did that when I wasn't moving. When I got home, go to back in and it starts to act like it is going to die, same thing in drive (keep in mind this is an auto). Well, I disconnected the battery to reset the computer and it ran fine. I climbed up underneath the car today and it is leaking on both sides pretty badlywhere the midpipe hooks up to the headers. I'm not sure if they had used a new gasket on the passenger sidewhich could be causing this.

Mywhole point to this thread isthese leaks cause for the CEL be set off and start to make the cardrive likesh*t where it feels like it's going to die? Once I get themtaken care of tomorrow, should it stop throwing theCEL sinceI have themil eliminators already?

Thanks for your help in advance.

if the leak is bad enough, it's possible to get a lean code among a few other o2 related codes. have them pulled just to make sure

Yeah if you are leaking very badly it can mess with the way the car runs quite a bit. Minor leaks however really have no side effect other than an annoying sound.

yea my v6 threw lean codes when it leaked, fresh air is being sucked thru sometimes thru the leaked spot and hitting the o2 sensor thinking its lean.just reposition eveything and use rtv high sealer

watch out for those MILs there known to be crap. i bought some from steeda and they didnt work, then steeda tells me sometimes MIL's fix the 02 problem and sometimes they dont[:@]. the only sure way to fix the rear 02 problem with no cats is to delete them with a tuner.
