Default $1000 to work with need advice?

i went 14.009@101mph last august with my gt,the temp was low 80's that day i made my 5-6 runs,i think the car will got 13.8 maybe on a cooler day,and this was on street tires,am i wrong to think i will gain 2/10's? also i plan on dumping about $1000 into the car here when i pull it out this spring,1 thing i plan to do is 4.10's,so what else can i ad that will be the best bang for the buck? i've been told a NOS kit? thanks for any and all advice i can get

If you count 4.10's into your $1000 then you going to be left with about $500 after install. With only $500 you are really limited. If you are planning on staying N/A thenI would doyour mods in this order;Full exhaust(longtubes, O/R x pipe, cat back), Cold air, TB+Plenum, Heads+Cams, Stroker. Ifyour plan of doing F/Idown the road then this is what I would save for it first;Centri>Turbo, TB+Plenum,Full exhaust, Heads+Cams,ForgedStroker Kit, then increase boost. This should help.In my option your better off saving forF/I. Most bolt on will not yield theHP you are looking for. Ifull bolt on car takes a insane amount of money to come close to the amount of HP you can make withF/I. Nitrouswould be ok, but to do it right,it should cost you more thena grand for allextra's. (Window Switch, Pressure Gauge,Bottle Warmer, Etc, + thecost of the Kit and Install) Not to mentionyou may want tohave your car dyno tuned to take advantage of the nitrous fully and to aid inthe safety. This is in rough detail. There is a lot left unsaid.

i'm looking into nitrous kits for my car right now, and trust me... you'll spend more than $1000 on the nitrous alone if you do it right. the kit itself is $600 (NX EFI plate system for 4.6 2v), but when you add in all the "extras" (optional but recommended) then you're looking at close to $1200 at least. you can get by with just the nitrous kit, but the extra $500 or so for the extras will give you a nice insurance policy on your engine, which wouldn't be cheap to replace if you had a mishap.

If you are counting 4.10s into your 1000 then do the gears and get some sticky *** tires on the back. Then the save the rest toward a real mod like F/I.

I'd say get a Gear kit from americanmuscle that includes 4.10 gears, diablosport predator and royal purple gear oil $569. Will be the biggest bang for the buck upgrade especially more if you tune with your current mods

If you have half a brain, a good set of instructions and the right tools, you can install gears yourself. It is actually really easy.

very true. just make sure you know how to shim the rear end right, sometimes the stock shims will work, but most likely you'll end up having to adjust it a bit for the right clearances. it may seem tough, but if you've got the right tools then you can swap the gears out pretty easily.
