i have a problem with the tranny it grinds when i shift to 3rd n it wont shift to 4th they told me to rebuild it or get a new one....how much would it b to rebuild it n i found one tranny but it is from a 98 gt is it the same one as the cobra n can i use it i need help asap thnx to anyone dat answers dis msg[/align]

I am not sure if the 98Gt T45 is the same, but I do want to say "Yes." Anyways, it's going to cost youaround $400 - $500 for a rebuild and that is only if you personallytake out the trans and take it to the trans shop yourself. Expect more if you want them to do everything.

I believe the T-45 is actually a Tremec and yes it is the same one used in the 96-99 cobras.

I had a 96 cobra T-45 and it would not fit in my GT, the speedo was diffeernt (mine is electrical) and the rear housing was a bit different. Not sure on your car.

You will have to swap over your tail shaft from the Cobra onto the GT T45 than it will bolt right in.

And yes it's a Borg Warner. I don't know what the realationship is but TTC/Tremic has the rights to the T45. I'd google the info but I'm feeling lazy today

Yeah, my T-45 definitely has Borg Warner stamped on it. Like BraMas said it will just be a difference in the tail shaft. Otherwise they are interchangeable.
