Default Hesitation and Power Loss

Hey everyone I'm new around here, sorry for not introducing myself in a post before I ask a question, but here goes. I just bought an 01 GT about a month ago and everything was running great until last night when i noticed a hesitation when accelerating from a stop into 1st. There were no warning signs or a gradual loss of power, but very sudden. It also hesitates and stutters quite badly in 3rd gear, becoming most pronounced at around 2000-2500 rpm. Does anyone have any suggestions about what i should try to correct this?

you might check the fuel filter. if the fuel filter gets too clogged up, your fuel system can't maintain adequate pressure and this may cause some stuttering and hesitation like that. other than that, i'm not really sure. if it were something electrical, i'd think the service engine light might come on.

Yeah, it is fuel related. Kind of hard to find those. I have the same issue, and it can be anything from bad gas, fuel filter, TPS, fuel pump, or bad coils. Those are basically everything that I have heard it could be. Just start with the cheapest, adn work them all out. So far I have the fuel pump, and my coils left. But if you figure it out sooner, please let us know. Thanks

Misfire bug hits again. Read my post below and see if it fits your problem. BTW, its probably not the fuel filter if it only happens at low RPM. Fuel filter problems come up usually during high power operation.
