Default STILL confused!

Sorrt about beatin a dead horse (no pun intended), but im still confused! Im a noob that knows a little, but im still a noob, and i have a question. I have an automatic 03 mustang GT, pretty much stock at this point. I want to get a lil more acceleration at the cost of top speed. I drive on the high way a pretty good amount, but i still drive in the city more often. Would changing to 4.10 gears help? I believe they would, but before I blow 300$ i would like the opinion of you guys. Thanks again, and sorry for the repeated topic.

ps. would i need new tires or upgraded suspension if i get 4.10? ..... right now traction is not a problem.

4.10's would work well for you. As far as tires, that's up to you. You will need a tune or programmer to calibrate your speedo for the new gears.

I have 3.73's and no tuner or anything...
My speedometer's like 20% (or so?? anyone know the exact percent?? it'd sure help for highway travel ) too fast, which means when I go to sell this car I'll get less money for it as the odometer will read more miles than the car actually has.

So yeah, if I had the money, I'd definitely get a tuner, or at least the 100 dollar quick fix thing.

ya, it just seems like such a waste to pay 400$ for a predetor tuner, and never use it but once.

Got mine for 320 on ebay, it recalculates my speedo for the 4.10s I'll be putting in soon and the tune gives more hp.

In my personal opinion, I think the 4.10s might be a little high for you. It's entirely up to you, but I have 4.10s in a manual and I hate driving it on the highway for long periods and I would never put them in if it was my daily, driving to work car.

I was the same as you, I thought they had WAY too much top end and not enough on the bottom.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 4.10s around town and cruising or for short runs on the highway but if you're planning on driving at 70 or 80 for long periods of time, everyday, it might get on your nerves.

the 3.73 would be my suggestion. You will feel a significant difference but it will still feel "normal".

Flame on fellas
