Default Ticking Noise. need confirmation

well.. i bought my car and it already had the ticking noise... i guess i was foolish but i didnt think it would be an expensive fix

something starts ticking once my car hits about 1600rpm - 3k. so would this be the tensioner like the sticky in the 4.6 general section says??

also, is $200 all it would cost for me to fix it?

It will cost you around $250 in parts, labor free if you do it. Take it to a shop add $300.. I did it over thanksgiving by myself.

Oh and try to listen to the top of the passenger side valve cover for the ticking noise, if its there then you know what the problem is. It could be the driver side but it seems to be the passenger side the most.

alright thanks... idk what it is.. since it gets louder when i give it gas, does that mean its the tensioner? or is it more likely a valve??
