My car runs sooo much better with the SCT tuner. I would recommend not only the SCT but also Brenspeed. Those guys are the best. Truthfully I got stomped. One of the associates there walked me through the entire process. If you are on a budget like I am (military) this is the way to go!

yeah these cars come from the factory with a pretty conservative tune, so it's amazing how much your car seems to wake up with a few tweaks to the a/f ratio and ignition timing. a while back i returned my car to the stock tune and drove it around for a while, and it felt really choked down. i didn't feel much of a difference when i first installed the custom tune on my car, it didn't really feel much faster or more responsive, but after going back to stock i saw how much different it felt. now all you need to do is put a supercharger on that car and start running some 12 second ETs

I was thinking heads and maybe a cam. Would it be more feasible to just buy the s/c?

I am not going to tell you it's a nose bleeding experince but with the tuner everything seems to be finally working together. Took off my gov, compensated for the o/r h pipe and gears, changed my octane to 93 and the best thing about it, I can change it back to stock when I get ready!. Whipped a rice out civic today. Man I'm on cloud nine. Call Brenspeed you want be sorry!!

Man that sounds nice, how much did the tuner cost? And I dont think you really need it to beat a ricer, but it makes it even more embarassing for the ol fart can on wheels.

The tuner cost $379.00 shipped. I guess the best thing that I did was change my rev limiter to 6500 rpm. That really made a difference. If you a newbie like me and don't really know what's best for your stang call those guys you want be sorry!!

really depends on what you want to do with the car. heads and cams would be cheaper than the s/c, but put out considerably less power.

On a full boltons car a generic tuned tune would be lucky (real lucky) to see over 10 WHP.

I was acutally loosing about 8 WHP with the diablo generic tune I had in the car at full boltons... the stock computer was doing a better job.
