if you got water on the COP's than you probly shorted one out and have to replace it (i figured this out first hand myself) but want most likely you will have to do is replace a COP you can buy used ones on ebay pretty cheap that is what i did and i dont have that problem any more
and next time you decide to rinse off the engine bay take some old rags and tear them up and put them around your COP's

No check engine light comes on when this happens. When I pull the packs off today, I guarantee there will be no moisture inside. My car's engine was dry after I got home. I'm heading down to Ace hardware in like 26 mins. I'm going to buy a can of contact cleaner and a giant tube of grease, something will work again. It just sucks because I have a 380rwhp car that could probably get whooped by a stock STI.

i pretty sure you had/have some moisture on the COP boots. even a couple drops on the boot can be enough to cause a misfire under load, i've had to deal with this more than i would have liked to [:'(]

I have experienced the same thing cleaning my engine. The problem is with getting moisture into the MAF sensor. I would just unscrew it and let it air dry or give it a little help with a hair dryer. Try to avoid getting water on it in the future when you clean the engine bay (or plow through water puddles) and you shouldn't have problem.

On my first adverture this morning my car ran great. It fixed itself like it always does, that is until I got stuck in my parents driveway and we were back to square one. I disconnected my MIL harness and there was moisture inside. Cleaned them out with contact cleaner and lubed them up w/grease, took it out for a spin and NOTHING. Popped the hood and disconnected a slew or harnesses and lubed 'em up. And if anyone responding to this post has a Procharger on their 99-04 stang, then you know all about the retarded relocation of the MAF meter. For those of you who don't know, its down inside the inner fender-well where BBK's cold air intake filter would be. When I pulled the connector off I noticed lots of moisture inside. I dried it out and lubed it up and wa-la. I think that may have been the problem. It "seems" to be driving ok now. Does anyone know why Procharger relocated the MAF meter?

My car used to do the same thing exactly. Random rough running. Got a new calibration flashed to my PCM and it fixed everything. Problem was with the fuel trim, basically the PCM wasn't compensating with enough fuel, resulting in one or two cylinders misfiring. Dealer charged 80 bucks for the reflash, and i asked for TSB 01-01-09.
