Default Using a laptop with a GT

I just bought a Superchips tuner and noticed that it has a basic serial connetion cable. I have a couple spare laptops floating around and wondered if there was some software I could get to run on the laptop and plug in to the car. Does anyone do this or know of anything? Basically want to see my fuel maps, RPMS, stuff like that.

Well basically all I need is how to get the data coming from the port... i am a Software Developer so I could write the software. But I am sure there is stuff out there for that.
