How much HP can a 99' GT auto handle?

How much HP can a 99' GT auto handle?
I never researched the auto trans because I was expecting a stick. Can any one please tell me about how much HP a 99' GT auto tranny can handle? The salesman said (I never listen to a salesman but he may be right about this car) My car is over at 300 or more HP with the mods that were installed. If it is my car is 300 HP I still should be safe or will the tranny wear out faster?

What are your mods?
That slushbox should not have any problems with 300 crank horses but I don't know what the limit really is.

it can hadle over300hp. i have a 99 gt auto with a kenne bell running 12 psi. all we did put a different stall converter and a trans cooler and it has lasted 10,000 miles so far so good.

my 240sx was AUTO and could take up to 500 so i imagine your safe to work with 500 on a cobra , keeping in mind this was a Skyline/300zx tranny
