Default sold the 99 auto for a 04 manual. exhaust question

Ok guys, so I finally gave up trying to "deal" with having a automatic tranny. I finally gave in and got a Maroon/Red 04 Gt w/ 23k miles. Anyways, I love the car. Its a stick, its clean, and it just "feels" better (granted its5 years newer). Anyways, I think my theroy for this baby will just to stay "street legal" but keep a unique feel to it. On my old 99 I have MAC O/R H w/ a Magnaflow Catback. Now, I loved it, but I think that since this car has so few miles on it, I want to give it a more "professional" sound. I guess is what im saying is I want 100% quality sound, and dont "care" about loudness, although it must be louder than stock. What ideas do you have? I know flowmasters are the ideal "muscle card" sound, but ive never heard a basani in real life, what does it sound like? Just loud/noisy, or really clean and professional? Im eventually going to go with a catted mid-pipe, so that will add to the umph.I need opionions.

I totally understand what you mean by the 'professional sound' that you're looking for.

Bassanni with a Catted X or H will sound just like what you're looking for. The same can be said probbaly for Borla Stingers, or LM II's.

If you go with an o/r midpipe again, you'll get that louder less clean sound that you're probably trying to avoid this time.

I head Bassanni on a Terminator with a K/B and I believe a catted X, I liked it *not as much as my own setup* but it was by no means distorted or poopy sounding.

You'd like it.

I have 40's flow masters with o/r H pipe on my 03 and I hate the sound of it. I share with you in feed back.

im with you there. I have a mac catback on mine and personally i think it sounds very smooth and "professional". thought about midpipe and might go with catted MRT H-pipe.

How do you hate the sound? I run the same set up and love it.

Prochamber goes soooo much better with flowmaster 40s than an h-pipe... by the way.

While my stang still had the stock H, I test-drove another GT with a bassani O/R X and a bassani catback, sounded a lot like the flowmasters through the stock H, only a little louder. Good sound. I would have gone with it, but it was retardedly expensive.

O/R prochamber + flowmaster 40s FTW.

Well I guess this is going to be a tough decision.

I got a few other questions to be answered:

If my state has emissions test, will my car pass inspection w/ a high flow cat? Also, I hear that my CEL wont come on w/ a high-flow mid pipe, is that true?

Does any company make a high-flow short H,X pipe?

and finally, do cars w/ long tube headders throw CEL's without getting MIL eliminators?[8D]

since the 99 was auto, that exhaust setup wont fit on your 04 because the piping is different for 5spd's and autos....but bassani exhaust systems do sound awesome- they have the professional sound like you said you were looking for, but they're expensive....- bassani makes stainless steel and aluminum systems...if you live in a snow state go with the stainless, salt corrodes the aluminum
