Default Rims

I ve got some cobra r rims and they are painted gray but now they are starting to chip and the paint is starting to pill off when i wash it. i was wondering if anyone has tried taking paint off rims before and what to use. when i get them striped down i want to have them powdercoated black. i was told that aircraft remover would take it off without etching the aluminum but i wasnt sure.

The best thing to do is have them sand blasted down to the metal, especially if the paint is chipping off, it probably doesn't have very good adhesion. You can probably find a shop that will do this for pretty cheap.

I used chemical stripper on one set of bullets I painted. Worked good and fast.
