I had a 96 T-Bird. The engine's for the T-bird/Cougar/Mustang are basically the same, so the heads, intakes, TBs & Plenums are all interchangeable.

Not much else is. This forum will help you out:

That is right if you are only talking about the engine.
N2O wet kits would work alright. Super- & Turbo- chargers may work, but I don't use either so I don't know where they mount.

Gears, exhaust, driveshaft, springs, hand held tuners, breaks, differentials, and any suspension parts designed for a mustang are not going to work on a T-Bird/Cougar.

I would start with a head swap to PI heads, hit it with some N2O, and get it dyno tuned. You could be over 300 RWHP in no time.

yeah main things u wanna do r gears, which r not hard to find, theyhav the 28 spline 8.8" irs which is fairly popular, then exhaust. only way to go is custom fab which is a maaaajor bitch especially if u r tryin to get high flow cats in i would recomend o/r y pipe and get a computer chip to cancel the code w/, also mustang shorties should work but kooks makes a custom midlength header for tbird/xr7 but u have to pull the motor to install any header set up. then mac makes a really good t-bird/xr7 cai. i kno i hav it on my 96 bird. c&l plenum will work w/ a little modification. so will 75mm tb's.(i have those too, and they work great)if u have the money then deffinately go with p.i. head/cams if not stage 2's. www.supercoupeperformance.com has ALOT of good **** for us mn12 guys. so does www.tccoa.com dont go to sccoa thats for the v6 super coupes which u dont have. tccoa is for thunderbird and cougars. but uhm wat u r gonna find out is that the mn12's r too restricted too heavy and require way too much oddball modifications. after trying and trying for two years on mine i gave up and bought a mustang and soooooooooo glad i made the switch. bottom line is mustangs were made to be modified and mn12's werent. but if u r motivated enough and have enough money then go for it. and i wish u luck. if u wanna kno anything else like i said ive been doing the mn12 thing for the last two years and would be glad to help u out.
