CUTTING SPRINGS?????

RE: CUTTING SPRINGS?????
Cutting springs is perfectly fine. You will get a nice drop, and not have to worry about the crap weight transfer of a lowering spring. You have ALOT of inexperienced folks tell you its "bad."
Do what you want.

I wouldn't recommend it. You alter the spring rate, and you will never cut them even from side to side. With all the spring packages out there. Why waist the time and take the chances.

and to the OP:although it may seem counterintuitive, cutting a spring shorter will increase the spring rate, so make sure you calculate what the rate will be before cutting it. it may be stiffer than you want, and an aftermarket spring with a lower rate may be better for your application.

Would you like to explain to me how you alter a non-progressive rate spring, buy cutting some off?
