Default O2 Sensors

I saw the other thread on this but had a different question. I've been running Mil Eliminators for a little while now with no problems. The other day my CEL came on. Turned out to be the code for a bad O2 sensor. So out of curiosity I lifted the car to see if maybe it had come lose, and one was totally gone. The sensor was plugged in...the Mil Eliminator was gone. So thats totally a mystery, but not what I'm worried about.

Since then, my gas mileage has been getting really bad. About 6-7 mpg less. Now I'm assuming it's related, but what I want to know is if I get a tuner and shut off the rear O2s, will it be the same as if they were on with the eliminators in, and my gas mileage goes back to normal? Or should priority #1 be to get a new set of mil eliminators?

those 02 sensors have nothing to do w/ calculating air/fuel mixtures. they are there soly to tell the computer if the cats are/are not working. Nothing more.

the 02 sensors on the headders are the only ones that calculate air/fuel, not the ones on the H/X pipe (the one you hook the mils up too)

Yeah sounds like one of your upper o2 sensors is bad and yes that can cause your ride to start dumpin extra fuel.

Exactly what code did you get? There are over30 O2 sensor related codes, without knowing which codes your car threw there's not really much of any substance to say...

Yeah I guess it really doesn't make sense for the rear O2s to affect anything.

So as far as getting rid of the CEL, should I bother getting a new pair of MIL elims? Or just buy a tuner?

I like having a tuner anyways, but if your mileage is messed up, dont think its the mils
