weird tire size
 
i have a 99 GT witht the 17 inch rim opt and at my work it says my car is supose to have 245 i think(cant rember at the moment but my car has 225 and my friend owns a shop all his compters say it aint the right size
do you know what size is supose to be on it?

its supposed to have a 245/40/17 not a 100% but my 02 came stock with those..a 225 isnt the right size im sure..they didnt put 275s on GTs

yup normal size is 245/40/17

245/45/17 is the stock size for a 17X8 factory wheel.

and just for a little more assurance on that. This is right off TireRack.com:

you can use a 225 on an 8" wide rim i believe (most sn 95's have 8" wide rims stock). you dont want smaller than a 245 on a 9" wide tire tho

My 01 Door sticker says 245/45/17 and thats what I run

245/45/17 is the ideal size for a 17x8" wheel but you can go up to a 275/40/17. 225 seems pretty skinny. It will be fine, but it is pretty skinny.

Yep, you're right on the sizes there. But a 225/45/17 will be fine on a 8" rim.

Somone ought to be a helpy person and tell me what came on the '05s. Cause I know a skinnier tire came standard.

I think stock for 17" rims is 225/45/17.
