anyone with hard starting issues.
got some info. on hard starting issue if anyone is interested. either warmed up or cold start my gt would seem to take many cranks before she would fire. no check engine light was on. i talked to a ford tech in my town, who is also THE mustang guy from what i understand. after starting it a few times he said with certainty it was the fuel pump. there is a check valve(or something along those lines) that is sticking, causing fuel to drain away from the injectors. in other words it wasn't keeping constant fuel pressure when sitting there turned off. until it's fixed he said to turn the key on & off 3 or 4 times to prime it so to speak. i tried it and it fires up like a charm. next step, change fuel pump. anyway, just thought i'd pass on the info. hope this benefits someone else also. c-ya.

I used to have an issue with a hessitation when I start. Like it would take a few cranks before it started. I went to ford it didnt happen it only happened like once ever 15 times. But I did the mod from mustangworld where I took up the slack in the accelerater pedal and I havent had the hessitation since.

RE: anyone with hard starting issues.
hey vb, haven't fixed mine yet. gotta get the money first. i just cycle the key a few times before i crank over. anyway, i've learned off this forum that most idling problems are due the idle air control valve. you can clean it, but mine had over 100,000 miles so i just replaced it. a new one one was just over 50.00. do a search on this forum about idling problems & that should help you also. good luck.
