Default noise from transmission.. throwout bearing??

ok so i put a Spec stage 2 clutch in last weekend, and i've noticed an odd noise coming from under the car (just started today). i would describe it as sort of a chattering noise. when i start the car up and keep the clutch all the way to the floor, there's no noise, but as soon as i let the clutch out (tranny still in neutral) it starts making the noise. it also does it while i'm driving, but if i press on the clutch pedal then it stops. does this sound like a throwout bearing?? maybe a bearing on the input shaft inside the tranny???

I would probably say throw-out bearing also.. the 3650 I had in the Mach before I modded it did that for about six months before it finally crapped itself at Kennedale.. Found out the shift-fork was broken too, but that chattering noise the way you describe it sounds like a bad TOB..

Did you tighten the pressure plate correctly?

yeah, i'm 99.9% positive that it's not a problem with the pressure plate or the install. i've done plenty clutches before so this would be the first time i've done something wrong if that is the problem. i'm hoping it's just the throwout bearing and not a defective clutch or something like that. i'm going to have it apart either this weekend or sometime next week and i'll take the pressure plate off and inspect/reinstall everything just to be absolutely sure.
